Sydney Sweeney Euphoria Season 3

Sydney Sweeney Gets Emotional as “Euphoria” Season 3 Nears Completion

Sydney Sweeney is preparing herself for an emotional goodbye as she wraps up filming “Euphoria” Season 3, marking the end of a defining chapter in her career. The actress, who portrays Cassie Howard in the hit HBO series, shared heartfelt reflections while attending Variety’s 2025 Power of Women ceremony in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

Honored as one of the event’s cover stars, Sweeney revealed that she has only two more days left of filming—Thursday and Sunday—before officially saying farewell to the show that shaped much of her twenties.

“It’s gonna be a really bittersweet moment,” Sweeney told Variety’s Angelique Jackson on the red carpet. “I’m kind of terrified for how emotional it’s gonna be. It’s been such a journey. It’s been my entire twenties. They’ve been my family and friends for so long. I’ve been forever grateful for all of them.”

The star’s emotional connection to the show is understandable. Sweeney, now 28, first joined “Euphoria” at just 20 years old, when she appeared in the pilot episode. Over the years, the series has not only propelled her career but also created lasting bonds with the cast and crew.

“I was 20 when I did the pilot, so being able to see a lot of the same people, it feels very comforting,” she said in another interview with Variety’s Marc Malkin earlier this week.

A Bittersweet End to a Defining Era

“Euphoria” has become one of HBO’s most influential dramas, known for its cinematic visuals, raw storytelling, and exploration of youth, addiction, and identity. The series, created by Sam Levinson, has garnered critical acclaim and multiple Emmy Awards, helping to launch stars like Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer into global fame.

While details about Season 3 remain tightly under wraps, it has been confirmed that the show will premiere in spring 2026. Alongside familiar faces, fans can expect new additions to the cast, including Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and Eli Roth.

Sweeney’s co-star Jacob Elordi, who plays Nate Jacobs, praised Levinson’s creative vision for the upcoming season.

“Sam constructed something that’s incredibly clever and cinematic,” Elordi said. “It was incredibly liberating. I got to play something so sort of far out from what I’ve done before.”

Fans have eagerly awaited the third season after long production delays and speculation about storylines. Sweeney’s comments suggest that the cast and crew have poured their hearts into the final stretch of filming, making the upcoming release even more anticipated.

Sydney Sweeney’s Next Chapter: “Christy” and “Barbarella”

As she prepares to say goodbye to Cassie Howard, Sweeney is already stepping into exciting new roles. Her next big project is the boxing biopic “Christy,” in which she stars as real-life champion Christy Martin. The real Christy Martin even accompanied Sweeney to the Power of Women event, symbolizing a passing of the torch from athlete to actress.

In addition to her role in “Christy,” Sweeney is also set to star in and executive produce a remake of the iconic 1968 sci-fi film “Barbarella” for Sony Pictures. The original film starred Jane Fonda, who was also in attendance at Wednesday’s event.

“I wanted to pick her brain for the remake,” Sweeney shared on the red carpet, expressing admiration for Fonda’s pioneering role in the original.

These projects highlight Sweeney’s expanding career as both an actress and a producer. From drama and action to sci-fi and biographical storytelling, she continues to showcase her versatility and dedication to complex, powerful roles.

A Farewell That Feels Like Family

For Sweeney, wrapping up “Euphoria” isn’t just about finishing a job—it’s about closing a personal chapter that defined her early adulthood. Her vulnerability about saying goodbye shows how deeply intertwined the experience has been with her growth as an artist.

As fans await the release of “Euphoria” Season 3 in 2026, they can expect the show to deliver the emotional intensity and stunning storytelling that made it a cultural phenomenon. And for Sydney Sweeney, this bittersweet goodbye marks not an end, but the beginning of a new, exciting phase in her ever-evolving Hollywood journey.
